Hot Yoga classes are taught in a temperature of 25-28 degrees with yoga poses taught from the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series (See more about Ashtanga Yoga). We use Longwave Infrared radiant heaters in our Hot Yoga classes. Radiant heat is a gentle heat that warms the body from the inside out. Similar to the rays of the sun, radiant heat warms objects rather than air to create a more even heat throughout the studio preventing the forced air effect you can sometimes feel in hot yoga studios. Our radiant heaters warm the body in the same manner as the natural sunlight. The room is not extremely hot when you enter, as infrared heat works by using your body’s own energy to heat the room as you get warm so does the room . Infrared heat helps to remove toxins that are stored in the body, improves flexibility & joint mobility, can reduce muscle stiffness and pain, increase circulation, lower blood pressure, and help to reduce stress. This heat energy is very helpful for increasing body temperature and its muscle relaxing benefits are well known. This type of energy travels only 2-3” deep into the body to increase circulation and nourish damaged tissue. Longwave infrared heat provides all the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any of the dangerous effects of solar radiation.
